Sunset dinner at Marina Bay Sands' Sky on 57

This year for our anniversary, we decided to choose a very special venue and after some research chose 'Sky on 57' on the top floor of the Marina Bay Sands hotel.

We knew that this venue would have amazing views over the Marina Bay, as well as Gardens by the Bay. In order to really get the best out of this view, we decided to time our visit so that it would cover the golden hour, the sunset, as well as night skyline. Our planning paid off, as we got some really nice shots throughout the evening.

VENUE AND ATMOSPHERE

The Marina Bay Sands is Singapore's most iconic building. It consists of a casino, a shopping centre, a hotel and various restaurants. It was completed in 2010 and ever since dominated Singapore's skyline. We also stayed there for a short staycation. You can see our room tour of the Orchid Suite here.

The restaurant, Sky on 57 is on the top floor (level 57, hence the name) and offers a 360 degree view. The modern interior, mainly built of light wood, glass and white marble feels bright and warm. I liked that the restaurant does not offer too many tables, as this ensures a quiet and cozy atmosphere.

Another highlight of this restaurant is, that you can step out on the roof top terrace to enjoy the view and the fresh air. This terrace is also available to customers who only want to take a drink or snacks, so you do not have to dine at the restaurant. The views are amazing and we were very happy.

THE FOOD

We started we a glass of champagne to celebrate the occasion appropriately...

...and of course champagne goes very well with oysters.

Next we had some salmon sashimi.

As a main, I had some delicious suckling pig...

...and Simona was clearly excited about her foie gras.

For dessert we had apple almond pie with vanilla ice cream.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner and I can genuinely recommend for others to try this venue if you are after a special experience. The view is very very nice and the food is good, albeit a bit expensive. We will definitely remember this lovely dinner for a very long time and have since come back a few times for drinks with friends.
